The Kualoa Ranch is 4000 acres of private property. Tourists need a special permit or can go on one of our tours in order to enjoy the Kualoa Ranch and the Kaaawa valley. The tour will start at the Kualoa Visitor Center.
Give yourself plenty of time for preparation and planing before you actually go out on the trails. The 1 hour ATV tours are usually scheduled for the morning and afternoon.
The ATVs reach higher speeds than horseback riding which allows you to see more landscape. Drivers are supposed to maintain a speed of 5 miles per hour. Some tour guides allow riders to reach 20 miles per hour.
Before riding the ATV riders must watch a safety video. Helmets are required and goggles are optional. Riders must wear shoes with closed toes in order to ride the ATVs. The Kualoa Ranch store sells ponchos if they are needed.
ATV riders must be older than 16 years old. There are no pregnant women allowed.
There is a trial run dividing the novices from the experienced drivers to determine which group people belong to.
These rugged all-terrain 4-wheel drive ATV vehicles don't have any power steering, so drivers must have some strength and coordination.
All ATV drivers must sign a liability release.
Helpful guides will lead the ATV ride.
The 1 hour ATV tour is great for beginners who don't know much about ATVs. It can be bumpy and dirty, so prepare by wearing rugged clothes that won't be damaged by muddy streams and dirt paths. Suggested accessories include long pants, sunglasses, a hat and towel.
Navigate through picturesque valleys and across seasonal streams. Follow the trails as you pass by WW II bunkers. Enjoy the wide open spaces as you coast across the landscape on your four-wheel drive ATV.
The Kualoa Ranch is located in the northeastern section of Oahu Island, Hawaii. Follow Kamehameha Highway 83, up along the eastern coastline. Kualoa Ranch is near Kahana Valley State Park.
